West Indies v Zimbabwe - 1992 World Test Championship - 4th Round - West Indies 2nd Innings

West Indies v Zimbabwe - 1992 World Test Championship - 4th Round - St Vincent

West Indies again lost Simmons early, the struggling opener having an awful season so far, averaging just 7.38 in 8 innings.
Lara arrived at the crease in great form, the only way to dismiss him cheaply this season seemingly the run out, and he didn't disappoint.
With Haynes also finding form, the pair put on 253 for the 2nd wicket to shut Zimbabwe out of the game.
Haynes was out for 138, and Lara 193, and with Richardson coming to the party with 126, and Arthurton posting 88 there was no letup, West Indies declaring with 2 days left and a lead of over 600 runs.
The Zimbabwean bowlers fall from grace had been swift in a big turnaround from the first innings by the unpredictable West Indies batting lineup.
Requiring 638 to win, or to bat 2 days for the Draw, Zimbabwe's only hope now was rain.
