New Zealand v India - 1992 World Test Championship - 3rd Round - India 1st Innings

New Zealand v India - 1992 World Test Championship - 3rd Round - Christchurch

New Zealand needed to bowl well to stay in the game, and Cairns didn't let them down, taking his second six wicket haul of the season as India found themselves 88/7 at one point.
Gritty late order batting, not least a last wicket partnership of 54 between Raju and Srinath, took India to 187 and gave them a vital 108 run lead.
Raju backed up his excellent bowling with a very handy 44.
With the pitch flattening out, Crowe kept his swing bowlers in the attack as they were the only bowlers gaining assistance from the conditions, and it worked, Cairns taking 6-79, and Morrison backing him up well with 3-74.
