Defending 233, Zimbabwe needed quick wickets when Australia began their reply, but it wasn't to be.
Geoff Marsh and Mark Taylor quickly settled, before steadily piling on the runs.
They took their opening partnership to 174, before Jarvis struck, bowling Taylor with a swinging ball for 79.
Boon joined Marsh and continued where Taylor let off, adding another 171 runs with Marsh for the 2nd wicket.
The pair took Australia to 333/1 off 100 overs, giving Australia 3 Batting Bonus Points, and denying Zimbabwe any Bowling Points.
Boon fell for 72, and Mark Waugh joined Marsh in another partnership.
Marsh brought up his double century soon after and the Zimbabweans were running totally out of ideas.
With a triple century becoming a possibility, it was surprise when Marsh was finally out for a magnificent career high 227, bowled through the gate by offspinner Traicos.
With his place under pressure owing to a string of low scores, Marsh had responded in the most emphatic fashion.
Dean Jones fell lbw to Traicos for a 3rd ball duck, but Border was quickly batting well, and Australia continued to pile on the runs.
Waugh fell for 67, before Healy joined Border in another partnership.
Looking untroubled throughout his innings, Border reached 99, before skying a ball to mid on off part time left arm spinner Grant Flower.
Australia lost a couple of late wickets, before Border declared with the score on 619/8 when Healy had reached an unbeaten half century.
The limitations of the Zimbabwean attack had been exposed, and though Jarvis tried hard, and Traicos persisted, the performance was below Test standard.
