The bowlers had their moments in a high scoring draw between New Zealand and England, but generally struggled, with England unable to force a result despite enforcing the follow on with a first innings lead of 301.
Andrew Jones saved New Zealand with a career best 230, more than making up for his first ball duck in the first innings, and allowing them to escape with the draw.
Crowe, Wright, Smith and Russell also made hundreds in a good match for batsmen, with the England keeper achieving a career best 175* in the first innings.
