With the pitch Normal, Pakistan 'B' believed it was good for batting and batted first against a seam heavy SLC XI lineup.
After losing Aamer Malik early, Rizwan-uz-Zaman scored a patient 43 in partnership with the steady Qasim Omar who made 31.
The pair established a decent platform, but failed to accelerate, and when they were dismissed the pressure was on the suspect middle order.
Asif Mujtaba dug in in partnership with Atif Rauf and gradually the scoring ground to a halt in the face of tight seam and spin bowling.
The slog overs failed to materialize as a collapse duly followed, leaving Pakistan 'B' on a barely defendable 146/9 off their 50 overs.
Seamer Wijegunawardena deserved his 3 wickets, while legspinner Asoka de Silva was almost impossible to get away in his spell of 10 overs 2-20.
At 76/4 in the SLC XI reply, Pakistan 'B' might have sensed a chance, but an unbroken partnership of 71* between youngsters S.Ranatunga and R.Kaluwitharana shut the door and finished off the match with almost 14 overs to spare.
It was a 3rd convincing mited overs loss on the trot for the visitors after failing to set a defendable score, despite numerous lineup changes, leaving the selectors searching for answers.
