Pakistan 'B' tour of Sri Lanka - 1986/7 - Tour Preview
Wanting to continue building up a large base of statistics for a group of players quickly, I elected to send the Pakistan 'B' that had just completed their series v Australia 'B' on a tour of Sri Lanka.
I was hoping the opposition was a bit more friendly than the recent Australia 'B' tourists and some of the Pakistan 'B' bowlers in particular can have some more success.
I am backtracking the tour to two months before in August 1986/7, which is more appropriate for a Sri Lankan tour.
I plan to jump around through time a lot and play one off tours where selection critea is dependent upon form on that tour alone.
I also use the Campaign Injury Rules from the Welcome Back to the West Indies set for more variations in team lineups throughout tours.
The Pakistan 'B' squad for the tour is:
Shoaib Mohammad, Aamer Sohail, Rizwan-uz-Zaman, Qasim Omar, Mansoor Akhtar (c), Ijaz Ahmed, Asif Mujtaba, Aamer Malik, Ashraf Ali (wk), Anil Dalpat (wk), Manzoor Elahi, Naved Anjum, Akram Raza, Mushtaq Ahmed, Zakir Khan, Mohsin Kamal, Saleem Jaffer, Azeem Hafeez
The tour will feature 3 First Class Unofficial Tests (4 Day), 3 3 Day First Class tour matches, 5 List A 50 Over Unofficial One Day Internationals, 3 List A 50 Over tour matches.
The Sri Lanka 'B' squad will be drawn from Test players active in First Class cricket, Youth cricket, or tour matches in 1986/7 or prior.
Mansoor Akhtar captains a fairly experienced Pakistan 'B' side to Sri Lanka in August 1986/7
