Pakistan 'B' v Australia 'B' - 3rd Unofficial Test (4 Days) - Lahore - 1986/7

Australia 'B' began their innings with a new opening pair in Tom Moody an Mark Waugh due to injuries which put regular openers Taylor and Veletta out for the final game of the tour.
Mark Waugh had actually begun his NSW career in the Sheffield Shield as Mark Taylor's opening partner in 1985/6, and went on to open in ODIs for Australia for many years so would not be unfamiliar with the role.
Tom Moody on the other hand was used as a makeshift Test opener for Australia during the 1992/3 tour of Sri Lanka.
So bearing this mind, as chief selector I opted to open with Moody and Waugh.
The rules of the game state non regular openers must earn their Batting Well panel twice instead of the normal once before becoming settled, so I forced these two to abide by this rule.
The rule evidently didn't hamper the pair, as they put on 83 for the 1st wicket before Moody again fell in the 40's.
Greg Ritchie 75 joined Mark Waugh in adding 156 for the 2nd wicket to bat the home team out of the game.
Mark Waugh carried on to a magnificent 167, the innings of the tour from an Australian point of view.
There was time for Dyer to complete his first half century of the tour before O'Donnell declared with a lead of exactly 200.
The home attack struggled, though Saleem Jaffer kept going to claim 3 wickets.
