New Zealand v Zimbabwe - 1992 World Test Championship - 5th Round - Zimbabwe 1st Innings

New Zealand v Zimbabwe - 1992 World Test Championship - 5th Round - Dunedin

Zimbabwe began their innings 480 runs behind New Zealand and under some pressure, though the pitch was still good for batting..
Kevin Arnott and Grant Flower added an important 66 for the first wicket to steady things and ease Zimbabwean nerves, Arnott making 43 and Flower 63.
Campbell and Pycroft took over, adding 146 for the 4th wicket to take Zimbabwe to 302/4.
Campbell made his first test century, an excellent 120 to add to his good start to the season.
Pycroft made 78, and at this point Zimbabwe started eyeing a possible first innings lead.
A lot rested on Dave Houghton and Andy Flower at this point, the pair having struggled so far this season.
They didn't disappoint, Houghton finding form with a brilliant 106, and Flower contributing a handy 40 to take Zimbabwe close, before a useful 31* from Brandes helped take them into the lead.
Zimbabwe were eventually all out for 528, with a lead of 48 few would have predicted after conceding 480.
The score at the 100 over mark had been 300/3, giving Zimbabwe 3 bonus points, and New Zealand just 1.
Zimbabwe had also taken an important 4 points for a first innings lead.
