1992 World Test Championship - Pakistan v Sri Lanka - 4th Round - Match Summary

Pakistan v Sri Lanka - 1992 World Test Championship - 4th Round - Faisalabad

Sri Lanka slumped to an embarrassing innings defeat as Pakistan moved from 8th to 5th on the points table with victory in Faisalabad.
The victory was set up on the first day by the seamers, who were backed up by their top order batsmen for the first time this season.
Aravinda de Silva batted brilliantly for 119, but it was to no avail, Sri Lanka crumbling in their first innings for a substandard 192.
Shoaib Mohammad and Saleem Malik posted centuries as the Sri Lankan bowlers lacked the penetration of their Pakistani counterparts, with Pakistan going on to post a good first innings total.
Sri Lanka collapsed in their second innings, succumbing to an innings defeat.
Aravinda de Silva was named Man of the Match for his solo performance against what was truly a team effort by the Pakistanis.
